UQ Organisation of Planning Students

PURPOSE

The UQ Organisation of Planning Students (OOPS) is a UQ Union affiliated society.  We aim to provide our members with opportunities in industry, sporting and social fields. As a small society, we take pride in truly knowing our members and providing tailored events for them. OOPS regularly partners with other UQU societies, inter-uni societies and the new UQ School of Architecture, Design and Planning to provide cross disciplinary events.

ANNUAL EVENTS

OOPS holds a number of annually reoccurring industry, sporting and social events. These are events that hold value in the community or within the student body itself. Some of these events can be seen below. For a further insight to OOPS events and goings on, please see our social media links below.

EMPLOYABLE SKILLS NIGHT

Employable Skills Night is typically created and hosted collaboratively with UQ GEMS to bring students a planning and environmental sciences based employable skills evening. Students hear from a variety of speakers from various backgrounds and gain useful tips and tricks on how to smooth their transition into the workforce!

EXEC TRL DAY

EXEC TRL Day is organised by the University of Queensland's Interfaculty Competitions (UQIC). Each year, societies go head-to-head in games of touch rugby league. It is a day of team building, laughter, inter-society bonding and above all, healthy competition! Although OOPS doesn't always win the competition, we always put up a good fight and give it our best shot!

OOPS BALL

Arguably the most important event on the OOPS social calendar is our annual Ball. We go all out to bring you an amazing night at the end of semester two, to celebrate the end of a stressful year, and for some, a rewarding degree. Each year, the different social representatives bring their own flare to the night, so we highly recommended making it a tradition!
